About Yak

Dinadi yak products are made from 100% yak down. Yak down is a rare and luxurious fibre similar in softness and feel to cashmere. It is superior in warmth to many sheep wool fibres while being similarly durable. Yak down is combed once a year from the yak’s winter coat and is praised as one of the most sustainable fibres available.

Dinadi partners with a social enterprise on the Tibetan Plateau that works closely with local yak herders to gather the fibres. This partnership ensures high traceability throughout our supply and production chain. The yak is natural and undyed and comes in two colours, Oat Brown and Dark Brown.

Care Instructions

• Air out between wears to reduce washing
• Hand wash in cold water with wool detergent; let soak for 10 minutes without working it
• Rinse with clean cold water; press out water without twisting or pulling
• Lay flat to dry
• Remove pilling by hand or with a de-pilling machine; compress fibres after de-pilling with a low iron
• Each Dinadi tag includes a strand of yarn that can be used if a product snags or tears

Made in Nepal

Hand-knitted in 41 hours by women directly employed by Dinadi in Kathmandu, Nepal. Dinadi controls the production process from start to finish, and conducts monthly site visits to ensure that their ethical and environmental standards are upheld.
