The Mifuko Kiondo Basket in Brown with Handle is a hand-woven paper twine basket with a short carry handle, designed for use around the home or on the go, handmade in Kenya. The natural brown paper twine construction gives it a warm, organic look that works in any room, and the short handle makes it easy to pick up and carry without it reading as a handbag.

ABOUT MIFUKO |

Mifuko is a Finnish design company founded in 2009 by Mari and Minna, two friends who studied Textile Art and Design together in Helsinki. The idea was born in a Nairobi market, where they encountered the skill of Kenyan artisans and set out to bring it to a wider audience. Today, Mifuko works with over 1,300 women artisans across Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana, combining Nordic design with traditional African craftsmanship to produce baskets, bags, and home décor sold in over 30 countries. The brand is a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organization and a Certified B Corporation, with fair wages, continuous orders, and community investment built into every piece. Each product carries the name of the artisan who made it.
